Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is a great example of Margaret River's most famous red variety. In 2005 a cold winter followed by a dry spring resulted in small, intensely flavoured berries with flavours reminiscent of ripe blackcurrant, cherry and liquorice. After ferment the wine was matured in a combination of new and old French oak barrels which added to the character of this wine.

The lovely aromas, intense colour and soft tannins are also result of the good growing conditions in 2005. As expected from a good Cabernet this wine has earthy overtones and a fine tannin finish making this a wine suitable to enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.

Cabernet Merlot

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes used in this classic Margaret River blend benefited from a cold winter allowing for even budburst across both varieties. This was followed by a dry spring resulting in small berry size and intense fruit flavours in the harvested grapes.

The two great red varieties make great partners. The strength of the Cabernet Sauvignon, with its berry aromas and spicy fruit on the palate are balanced by the soft fruitiness of the Merlot. Time spent on oak has added a hint vanilla to the palate and this is a smooth satisfying wine. This wine is ready to be enjoyed now or can be cellared for up to 10 years.

Merlot

This wine exhibits an exotic mix of red berry, herb and olive characters with the intense flavours. A touch of cedary oak combines with some classic spicy violet aromas.

The palate is soft and juicy with a suppleness that is expected from Merlot. Matured in oak barrels this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 8 years.

Shiraz

This wine is a great cool climate example of Australia's most famous red variety. In 2006 the growing season experienced a cold winter followed by a dry spring resulting in small, intensely flavoured berries. The lovely aromas, intense colour and soft tannins are also result of the good growing conditions in 2006.

This wine has been matured in a combination of new and old French oak barrels which has added to the character of this wine, with flavours reminiscent of blackberry, plum and nutmeg. This elegant Shiraz is suitable to enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

This regionally classic blend was produced from hand selected parcels of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc low yielding vines from both the Margaret River and Geographe regions.

The fruit presented to the winemaking team showed fine palate weight and structure. As a result we have been able to produce this superb wine with classic citrus characters, and aromas of passion fruit and figs. The palate is zesty, fresh and has a lingering fruity finish. This is a wine suitable for any occasion.

Chardonnay

Hand selected Chardonnay fruit from some of the best vineyards in the Margaret River region was sourced for this wine and the result is a lovely wine with aromas of white peaches, pears and other tree-ripened stone fruits.

The palate is nicely textured, fading to a fresh fruity finish.

Verdelho

Pale lemon in colour, this wine has fruity aromas of fresh pear, passion fruit, ripe peach, banana and custard apple.  The palate displays gentle sharp flavour of grapefruit up front followed by more subtle flavours of pineapple, passion fruit, orange blossom, lychee and custard apple with a citrus acid finish. The aromas are developing nicely and the flavours will continue to develop and settle over the next few months.
